One of Paris’ most iconic attractions, the Eiffel Tower, is well known for its long queues.  As Paris’ most visited attraction, the Eiffel Tower attracts millions of visitors each year.

To make your visit more enjoyable, I’m sharing some handy things to know before your visit the Eiffel Tower.

Buying Eiffel Tower Tickets

With seven million visitors each year, ticket queues at the Eiffel Tower can be extremely long in peak season and waits of up to two or three hours are not uncommon.

Pre-purchasing entrance tickets allows visitors to nominate their time of entrance (based on the Tower’s elevator schedule) and enter at a designated entrance, skipping the long queues of visitors waiting to purchase tickets.

There are a huge number of ticket options available.  You can choose which level of the Tower you would like to visit, whether you want to visit independently or with a guide, and you can even choose to climb the Tower via the stairs rather than the elevator.  Click here to browse all the options.

Dining on the Eiffel Tower

One really special thing to do in Paris is to treat yourself to lunch or dinner at one of the Eiffel Tower’s magnificent restaurants? 58 Tour Eiffel is located on the Tower’s first level, whilst the highly-acclaimed Le Jules Verne can be found on the second level.

By dining at one of the Eiffel Tower’s restaurants, you’ll not only enjoy superb food but magnificent views as well. Reservations are essential.

I enjoyed my 3 course dinner with a glass of Champagne at 58 Tour Eiffel restaurant.

Each night (from dusk) the Eiffel Tower is illuminated by sparkling lights for five minutes.  This occurs every hour on the hour.

The Eiffel Tower is open from 9.30am – 11.45pm daily (9am – 12.45am from mid-June to early September).
